Contract negotiations with Star and Gannett management are set to resume today. Negotiations will continue tomorrow. Keep an eye on your email for updates.

Sunday’s Colts leafletting outing
We will be leafletting Downtown prior to this Sunday’s Colts Game. If you haven’t been able to make a Colts leafletting, please try to join us this week, as this will probably be our last Colts pre-game leafletting. We’ll meet at the Guild hall (musicians hall) just behind the Star’s parking garage at 11 a.m. to distribute flyers and instructions.
Duespaying members should plan to join us after the leafletting for a 1:30 p.m. general meeting at the Guild hall. Lunch will be provided. Give us an RSVP if you think you can make it.

Leafletting at tonight’s Colts game postponed
The leafletting effort at tonight’s Colts game is postponed due to rain in the forecast the rest of the day. The next Colts home game is at 1 p.m. against the Chiefs on Sunday, October 9. Reminder to wear red tomorrow, links to ‘Save The Star’ TV coverage
– A reminder to all to wear red tomorrow to show our unity as a
newsroom. You can wear a red shirt, a red tie, red pants, red plaid, a
red dress, a red beret, a red scarf, a red suit. But whatever you
wear, wear red on Fridays. It’s a small thing. But small things add
up.
– WRTV-6 aired two reports during their evening newscasts tonight on
the Guild’s “Save The Star” campaign. They interviewed Guild President
Bobby King and Star subscribers. Visit our Facebook page at

– If you haven’t yet seen the video interview with former Star copy
editor Judy Wolf, it’s worth taking a few minutes to watch. We are
looking for more former Star staffers and community members who want
